Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees

URDG 758 creates a new set of independent guarantee rules for the twenty-first century, containing new definitions and interpretation rules to provide greater certainty in demand guarantee practice.

The Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees (URDG), first adopted by ICC in 1991, reflect international practice in the use of demand guarantees while at the same time balancing the interests of the different parties and providing safeguards against abuse in the calling of guarantees.

Co-written by industry experts, Professor Sir Roy Goode QC and Georges Affaki, the Guide to ICC Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees is available now at the ICC UK bookshop. The guide serves as a practical tool for users of URDG 758, which is rapidly gaining recognition as the main international standard for demand guarantee practice
